PROCLAMATION
Know Ye All People By These Presents Greetings: WHEREAS, music plays an increasingly important role in our world today; and,WHEREAS, music is one of the most sublime of human pursuits and is subscribed to by all races and nationalities; and, WHEREAS, music is the language of all peoples and one of the forces in creating peace and harmony; and, WHEREAS, the Little Rock Sister Cities Commission and Ragusa Community Committee, Central Arkansas Library System, University of Arkansas at Little Rock are dedicated to encouraging the principals of the International Sister Cities Program, have joined forces to promote cultural exchanges and influence the dynamic impact that music has on our everyday life. NOW, THEREFORE, I, Jim Daily, Mayor of the City of Little Rock, Arkansas, do Hereby proclaim the week of April 19-25, 1999, "IBLA\Ragusa- Little Rock Sister Cities Music Festival of the Two Worlds" in the City of Little Rock and ask that all citizens of this community observe and take part in activities recognizing the importance of music, musicians and musical organizations to the cultural life of our city, state, nation and world.
