IBLA AT LOYOLA A SUCCESS!

The Loyola School Music Department has developed an Educational Concerts Program which features a yearly concert and/or master class with IBLA Competition Winners. In its second year at Loyola School, a leading Jesuit/Roman Catholic private school located at 980 Park Avenue in New York City, the Music Department proudly showcased the young and exciting talent of several IBLA Voice, Violin, and Piano Competition winners.

IBLA Competition Winners such as mezzo-soprano Paula D'Aria and violinist Bruno Monteiro (both of Portugal) gave powerful yet poignant performances of the De Falla "7 Canciones Populares Espanolas" and Franck "Violin Sonata in A major."

Pianists Jooyoung Kim (from Korea) and Mami Shikimori (of Japan) gave moving and particularly expressive renderings of the Liszt "Mephisto Waltz" and Debussy "Preludes Feux d'artifice."

Finally, a sublime child prodigy Mertol Demirelli (of Turkey) moved his young college prep audience with delightful performances of the Kuhlau "Sonatine in g major."

The audience filled of young Loyola students and instructors was very much pleased with and looks forward to another educational concert by IBLA Competition Winners.
